Database help
Once again, I must ask for access to your set of collective knowledge. My Google-fu has failed me on this subject. We have some VBA code that connects to an online MySQL database. It takes data from a table and put it in a recordset. The recordset then gets looped through to add each record to a dictionary object (which is a hash table in VBA). The code works great and takes one tenth of a second.

But, when we connect to a SQL Server database, while the connecting and putting data into the recordset takes less than one second, the looping process takes about ten seconds! We're talking about only 170 records, all the fields are varchars, and there's nothing odd about the data in the table. There's nothing odd about the looping, we're just using objRec.MoveNext.

Does anyone have *any* ideas as to why this should be?

Thank you in advance!

Last night I broke off one of my veneers. Feh. Luckily the dentist could get me in this morning to fix it. I was very tempted to use superglue on it last night, though.

I had a three day job last week testing IV pumps. It's good to stay in practice with working. The boss had let us use his iPad to listen to music during the day, which was nice. One side of the room liked modern pop music and the other liked soft rock to country, so we took turns choosing the music. During one transfer the music went from Elton John to Lady Gaga. I was about to call mental whiplash when I realized: Lady Gaga is the Elton John of modern times. Funny how things can seem so different yet have one be a decedent from the other.

Music questions
I will admit to know almost nothing about musical notation other than the basics, so I apologize if these are n00b questions. In the following score:

What are those dots under the notes in the Pianoforte parts? Can one substitute a piano for a pianoforte (when creating a MIDI)?

What is sul G.? And if it's not too complicated, how do the fingering numbers affect music?

Thank you! I am blessed with friends with such a variety of knowledge.
